Summary


This position is responsible for analyzing, validating, reporting and follow-up of sales, income, expenses and bankdeposits received from Stores on a weekly basis, via BDMS transmissions. In addition, this role handles the gift cardorder desk.


Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Verify that all Store Cash Reconciliation statements are complete with appropriate supporting documentssubmitted.
  • Fraud Detection: identify and investigate variances. Follow-up promptly with Stores, Banks, Desjardins,Supervisor and Loss Prevention as appropriate for continued investigation and/or for resolution.
  • Validate BDMS Store Cash Reconciliation figures reported with Store POS reports and follow-up with variances.
  • Validate Income and Expenses including Coinstar, Western Union, Ontario Lottery, Gift Cards Sold & Redeemedand Cash Voucher paid outs.
  • Analyze and reconcile Store vs. Bank for Cash on Hand, Cash in Transit, Cash and Coin Orders and StoreDeposits for Cash, Cheques, Debit and Credit Card transactions.
  • Gift Card Order desk - record and package orders, activate and de-activate Gift Card orders and assist with cardbalance inquiries.
  • Communicate with Stores and Gift Card customers regarding card issues and orders.
  • Complete and submit weekly balancing of Accounts and period reconciliations as per deadlines.


Qualifications

 

  • Post Graduate Program (2 years) in Business/Finance/Accounting.
  • 1 – 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to analyze, identify issues, follow up, and seek appropriate and timely resolutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as SAP, BDMS, and Sweda is an asset
