Position Title: Customer Engagement, Intern (Summer 2020)


Analytic Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conducting customer and transactional category analysis to support merchandising questions (using different analytics platforms – dunnhumby shop, SAP BW, Nielsen etc.)
  • Running data extracts and reports based on customer satisfaction survey data
  • Helping us set up an secondary insights library, to organize trends and thought leadership around relevant industry topics.

Customer Engagement & Loyalty Team:

  • Document historical key performance indicators for the Ontario loyalty programs, while providing financial scenarios for mass loyalty initiatives and make recommendations on Loyalty promotions
  • Develop financial scenarios for mass loyalty initiatives and make recommendations on Loyalty promotions.
  • Complete weekly reports/dashboards specific to loyalty indicators (eg. Transactions, enrollments, gift certificates redeemed, etc.)
  • Identify eligible members for specific offers based on pre-determined criteria
  • Manage the annual loyalty measurement plan and identify opportunities to better use existing analytical tools
  • Develop reports and dashboards for all Ontario loyalty initiatives
  • Work with Dunnhumby and Air Miles regarding all customer data questions/queries

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, track and update project-based work, financial reports, loyalty KPI reports and other ad hoc assignments.
  • Work with cross functional teams on various projects and campaigns.



  • Student working towards the completion of an undergraduate degree or diploma in Mathematics / Data Analysis and Measurement / Retail Science. 
  • Demonstrated technical experience preferred - proven ability to work with databases / analytical platforms and/or strong ability to learn quickly.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel and Office. Advanced would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Independent thinker interested in taking initiative.
  • Proven ability to multitask and follow up on actions/ issues
