The Intermediate Payroll Clerk updates daily information in Kronos including employee Attendance Program – both are Time and Attendance tools.  This position interacts extensively with internal and external customers addressing any inquiries, via phone, e-mail or personally.  This position creates daily reports to ensure effective communication with DC Operations                        
Specific Responsibilities                        
•    Process and balance the hourly payroll for the unionized full and part time employees for the Distribution Centres                    
•    Set up new hires in Kronos                    
•    Ensure that job premiums, as set out in the Collective Bargaining Agreements, are paid on a daily basis                    
•    Investigate payroll inquiries and process adjustments accordingly, utilizing tools such as SAP, Kronos                    
•    Sort and distribute cheques and direct deposits for the Distribution Centres                    
•    Advise, train and interact closely with Part Time Payroll Clerks                    
•    Conduct payroll audits                    
•    Daily and weekly balancing of payroll                    
•    Audit ELA once they have been signed off by Human Resources.  This includes updating attendance and payroll records                    

  • College study (2 years).  Human Resources and Payroll Related courses are an asset.                    
  • 1 – 3 years relevant work experience                    
  • Good oral and written communication skills                    
  • Solid understanding of CAW Collective Agreement,                     
  • Computer literate, working knowledge of Kronos, Word, Excel.  SAP is an asset
