This individual will need to possess strong business partnering and leadership skills as this is a key role that will interact with multiple individuals across the Supply Chain, with a focus on our stores. This is a temporary position within the SCIP (Supply Chain Integrated Planning) Program, responsible for the implementation of the Perpetual Inventory (PI) and Store Automated Ordering (SAO) systems in Ontario and Quebec.
The position is responsible for training and development of roles & responsibilities required in store to enable PI and SAO. The individual will need to have extremely strong change management skills. 
The individual will be the change driver of this new technology and inventory function at store level.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all inventory control functions and processes that impact PI and SAO at store level. Working knowledge of the Metro Store Operations processes is a requirement.
  • Develop root cause analysis processes and improvement processes and systems to ensure accurate inventory levels.  Partner with leadership team in Supply Chain, Merchandising and Operations with a collaborative approach to problem solving and the ability to work with cross-functional teams at all levels
  • Creation and management of KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) to monitor and identify root cause issues and solutions to ensure accurate PI levels and store inventory within various areas of the organization.   
  • Proactively develop and direct the implementation of new tools, processes and best practices to improve business performance for Perpetual Inventory and Store Automated Ordering systems at store level.
  • Create the implementation plan for banners in both Ontario and Quebec to roll out Perpetual Inventory and SAO (Store Automated Ordering) systems.
  • Perform effectiveness evaluation of current control standards; communicate results and develop recommendations for continuous improvement. Support in analytics & process execution.
  • Define execution team personnel requirements for F21 implementation including but not limited to; hiring, performance management, orientation, assignment and distribution of workflow.
  • Analyze inventory transactions and trending data to identify problem areas and perform variance analysis for unbalanced inventory levels and make recommendations for correction.



  • University Degree is an asset
  • Over 10 years of experience in grocery retail management 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel to stores within Ontario on a weekly basis
  • Travel to Quebec as necessary 
  • Will include evening and weekend hours
  • Experienced in Project Management is an asset



Reports directly to the Director, Supply Chain Optimization
Will build deployment team for F21 for Food Basics, Metro Ontario and Super C banners (10+ reports)
