 This position is responsible for the strategic development and execution of talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management to strengthen the Company’s capabilities and ensure it has the required and appropriate talent to meet current and future business plans.

 

  • Identify future talent requirements and develop and execute strategies to meet future needs including the early identification of talent.  Detect current and future talent gaps.
  • Partner with business and human resource leaders to understand their talent and succession plans and execute on their people strategies through a cohesive talent acquisition and training and development strategy.
  • Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies for delivering top-quality talent that meet hiring plans in a timely and consistent fashion.
  • Ensure consistent recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices that support a highly positive candidate experience and recruiter/hiring manager efficiency to meet talent acquisition objectives and metrics.
  • Deliver high-quality results by developing and measuring metrics.  Provide management reports summarizing progress toward metrics and identify trends that have an impact on the business.
  • Leverage best practice models/processes, tools, technology and vendors to drive good decisions.
  • Manage, coach and develop the talent acquisition team with the Talent Management Supervisor to ensure optimal synergies and efficient delivery of service.
  • Support the Company’s succession planning program by identifying trends, opportunities and challenges, preparing statistics, and making recommendations to detect and track future talent gaps
  • Manage talent programs designed to elevate the employee experience, either through the development of new programs or the improvement of existing ones, such as onboarding, performance management, mentoring, etc.
  • Monitor and manage the overall candidate experience to ensure it is professional, positive and reflective of Metro’s values.  Research, recommend and implement enhancement strategies as appropriate
  • Act as a lead for Ontario on metroTalent.
