Summary:
The Transportation Planner is responsible for organizing and routing store orders within Blue Yonder (formerly J.D.A) Transport Management System in a manner that minimizes miles traveled and maximizes cube and weight per trailer. The incumbent will provide outstanding customer service experience through the planning and coordination of high quality transportation and logistics solutions while communicating professionally with customers.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Organize, plan and prioritize routing of store orders in Blue Yonder (formerly J.D.A) Transport Management System
  • Schedule appropriate departure times for each commodity
  • Monitor store deliveries and warehouse departures including delays
  • Coordinate trailers, shunting, load locks, pallets, and all DC transfers
  • Provide support to the Stores with inquiries
  • Coordinate left offs and cross docks
  • Assign specific trailer sizes as required for stores and backhauls
  • Coordinate special routing requests
  • Coordinate rush deliveries due to missed features, late or missed store orders
  • Develop potential solutions to problems
  • Prepare reports and communications to stakeholders
  • Carrier invoice discrepancies
  • Create cost effective solutions that meets the customer's needs

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a field related to Business, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Working knowledge of PC and business applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Transportation or Logistics industry
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Handles high stress situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to speak French an asset
