Summary:

    

The Shopper Marketing Specialist reports to the Senior Shopper Marketing Manager and will support the design and execution of all Shopper Marketing Campaigns that are designed to build brand equity, drive traffic to stores and increase customer engagement. They will also play a critical role in managing Metro's Category marketing strategy through creative and annualized marketing activations and strategy.  They will work to ensure a seamless and fully integrated brand experience that is category specific across all marketing channels as part of the customer journey.  Additionally, they will be responsible for weekly reporting, and creating and driving ROI across all channels by defining and reporting against performance metrics.

       

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage weekly distribution and operations of Metro flyer production, inclusive of both physical flyer and digital flyer, with alignment across merchandising teams and business services across the Metro Ontario Banner
  • Contribute to the development of and coordinates multi-faceted integrated shopper marketing campaigns that support brand objectives, commercial business strategies and tactical marketing plans.
  • Responsible for managing shopper marketing content within Metro's larger Content Calendar, including all creative category specific assets.
  • Manage end-to-end photography process including daily support and briefing of thematic photography projects to ensure adherence to brand guidelines
  • Coordinate with Merchant teams and Marketing functional groups to manage Shopper Marketing Calendar of events.
  • Point of contact to facilitate support to business partners inclusive of eComm and loyalty  
  • Support in the building of Marketing Plans, Category Plans and Post Mortem decks.  This includes supporting our Internal business partners and external vendors.
  • Development of creative brief for the physical and digital flyers, and ensure integration across omnichannel (flyer, signage, digital, website, etc)
  • Manages weekly communications to stores and is responsible for internal shopper marketing platforms
  • Track and consolidate period end budget and data reports; manage and process invoices

  • Assist in development of creative briefs to vendor partner to promote thematic events  
  • Responsible for flyer development and photography arrangement for all grand opening stores   
  • Responsible for in store flyer distributions and all related inquiries      
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement to achieve cost efficiency      

       

Qualifications:

 

  • University degree, College or related education in marketing is preferred
  • 3-5 years of Marketing experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Must be self driven and have a style that works well in a fast-paced environment that requires a sense of urgency
  • Ability to seek solutions under minimal supervision and recognize when items should be escalated
  • Must have the ability to building strong, professional business relationships to support our internal and external client groups
  • Excellent communication skills. (Verbal and Written).
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative problem solving skills, with a drive to achieve results.
  • Focus on our customers, including the path to purchase and advertising.
  • Proficient computer skills. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
