The Specialist will play a key role in growing Metro’s online grocery customer base by focusing on customer acquisition, conversion and retention. The Specialist will be responsible for executing the customer acquisition and retention strategy and implementing the plan with Metro's internal and external stakeholders. The individual, under the direction of the Senior Manager, will ensure qualified traffic is sent to the website in order to achieve sales and conversions goals. The Specialist will incorporate best practices to the online grocery business by leveraging their strong background in digital marketing.                        
Specific Responsibilities:                        

  • Directly manage marketing campaigns, across search, social and more alongside external agencies                    
  • Improve KPIs by optimizing budgets, campaign structures, goals and creatives to reduce CPAs and increase ROAS                    
  • Proactively propose improvements to existing initiatives, and new initiatives that will lead to channel and company growth                    
  • Monitor and share ROI through all paid channels                    
  • Lead ad-hoc projects as needed e.g. launching in new geographies, working to implement new tools and solutions, etc                    
  • Liaise with internal Metro teams (e.g. brand, digital, merchandising and loyalty) to integrate eCommerce into existing marketing programs                    
  • Coordinate and oversee production of all creative requirements related to e-commerce                    
  • Stay on top of the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing 



  • 2-6 years of experience in growth or performance marketing                     
  • Prior experience building, executing, and scaling digital marketing activities; with direct experience managing digital media buying                    
  • Marketing or business related post-secondary degree                    
  • Confidence leveraging data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements on existing and new channels                   
  • Experience across traditional and emerging media channels including Direct Mail, Snap, TikTok or others.                    
  • Excellent project management, verbal and written communication skills (you will be writing copy for our ads)                    
  • Experience working cross functionally with media agencies and internal stakeholders                     
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, an appetite for experimentation and willingness to constantly test, iterate and improve on our marketing strategy                    
  • Comfortable using Google Analytics, Google Ads and FB Ads                
  • Design skills not required, but an asset
