Responsible for the development of new programs and products, store merchandising layouts, training manuals, sales and profitability and a strong relationship with Operations on store execution. 


Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop new products and programs, including recipes, specification sheets, planograms and training manuals. Makes recommendation on equipment and placement.
  • Maintain, with Quality Assurance,  fully up-to-date and complete Ingredient and NFT files
  • Maintain completeness and accuracy of TANK recipie file
  • Create merchandising excitement and direction through event creation, planning and implementation of theme events and seasonal opportunities
  • Work with vendor community on new product development and programs and identify trends and category growth opportunities.
  • Identify consumer requirements and develop merchandising programs to meet those needs
  • Manage promotional information communication with internal stakeholder groups such as Operations and EComm
  • Recommend new items and items to discontinue, utilizing existing analyzing technologies, including Dunnhumby to maximize sales, with assortment mix, space allocation and  sales, profits
  • Assist specialists in executing category planograms and programs. 
  • Maintain contact with District Managers, Specialist, Director of Execution and Store/Dept. managers to provide direction, respond to questions, resolve issues and assist in training 
  • Review packaging including costs, efficiency, and sku rationalization
  • Work with Corporate Brands on the development of our Private Label programs including selection, product specifications, costing, logistics, quality and packaging.
  • Accountable for delivering overall strategy and implementation of new programs and initiatives Comply with corporate and regional guidelines. 
  • Accountable for achieving budgeted sales and profit on developed programs
  • Monitor all competitive and industry activities, regarding merchandising, product development, trends, marketing and promotions



  • University degree prefered
  • 5-7 years bakery retail experience 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines
  • Problem solving skills
  • Intermediate computer skills 
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills



Reports to the Director Merchandising, and interacts with the Category Manager, Director of Execution, Field Specialist, Store and Dept Managers.
