SUMMARY

This position is responsible for reviewing and implementing the planning and development requirements of various design and construction projects within the Company’s capital plan and colleagues from other relevant departments or within the department

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 - Manage the capital budget and project schedules for the capital plan of assigned program. 

- Visit all project locations to determine project objectives from clients, opportunities for improvement and growth, and analyze site conditions and limitations.

- Work with Store Design to prepare proposals, options and solutions to meet or address client requirements, Company objectives and new initiatives.

- Review construction and equipment budgets and estimates to ensure they respect project scope of work, and capital plan budgets.

- Establish and update details and standards for banners (concepts, décor, exterior facades and equipment) in collaboration with the clients’ requirements and various divisions within the Engineering department.

- Obtain various technical studies, budgets and design solutions from divisions within the Engineering department in order to present a global analysis of each project to clients.

- Make sure to obtain the various technical and budgetary studies from the other internal departments to draw up an overall analysis of the projects and communicate the options selected to the various internal stakeholders.

- Provide support to realisation colleagues during the construction of projects in order to allow consistency between the planned project and the execution, and this, while respecting the economic parameters of the program established in planning.

- Maintain the information file (in MS ONLINE and SAP) for each project in its project group.

- Participate in strategic planning meetings.

- Prepare and obtain approvals of financial requirements (capital mandate and credit acceptance) for  projects. 

- Assure the follow-up of budgets and schedules for each project as well as the entire capital plan program.

- Update information for a banner an assigned projects in SAP-PS an MS Online

- Ensure overall monitoring of budgets and schedules for all the projects  in order to accumulate statistics for future projects to be planned

- Follow the execution of assigned projects, manage any changes involving planning and design and keep  various departments informed of the evolution of each project.

- Analyze Company strategic initiatives, demographics and product offering in conjunction with store layouts, equipment selection and décor package.  
 

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor of Architecture, College degree  in Environmental Design, Technological Design or other related subjects

- 5-7 years of experience in project planning, project  Design or project Management, preferable in the retail sector.

- Knowledge of Autocad, the Windows PC environment (Outlook, Word, Excel) SAP an MS Project.

- Effective negotiating skills.

- Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required

- Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines.

- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

- Knowledge of a professional environment

- Travelling on site.  Sometimes for more than one day 

- Have a valid license  an a car available at all times

- Priority management and autonomy
